Neuropsychological Evaluations for Learning Disabilities

A comprehensive evaluation to identify learning differences and provide clear, practical recommendations for school, work, and daily life.

The process often begins with a detailed history, gathering information about your child’s development, school experiences, and any challenges they have faced. During testing, tasks might include reading passages, solving math problems, spelling, and writing essays, along with activities that assess how quickly and accurately a person can process information. The assessment includes intelligence testing, memory testing, auditory processing testing, visual processing testing, attention testing and executive functioning testing.

The goal of the evaluation is to identify specific learning challenges, such as dyslexia (reading disability), dyscalculia (math disability), or dysgraphia (writing disability), and to distinguish them from other issues like ADHD, anxiety, or environmental factors. The final report provides a clear diagnosis (if appropriate), outlines the individual's strengths and weaknesses, and offers tailored recommendations for support. These might include academic accommodations, specialized instruction, or therapies to help the individual succeed in school, work, and everyday life. The evaluation provides critical information to guide educational planning and intervention.
